Awesome fight scene this episode, with lots of character growth moments and good contrast between Jem and Drop. Must commend everyone on an excellent show of role playing and providing a very entertaining session. Don't think I could be prouder of our sad punch boy.
Jade's post has apparently preserved most of my thoughts and reactions from the Shoutbox so no need to rehash them.
The one thing I'm still struck with is Violet's predicament at the end. Did some research, but couldn't really find a spell that fit with what's going on. Closest I found was Dominate Person (as no spoken commands are needed and it doesn't have an explicit issue with commands that would cause the target harm). I'm kind of hoping that before she throws herself into the pit, she remembers that she doesn't like disembodied voices, gets angry, and goes into Mindless Rage (suspending the charm effect while in the rage) so that Alias and the rest of the party there get an opportunity to save her before it wears off. It seems like the most Violet solution to the issue and it just feels like it would be somewhat unsatisfying for her to jump into hell and die as a consequence of actually trying to save the life of an NPC for once. Probably something of a longshot, but I'm really eager to see how things pan out next episode, and am super excited as we push toward the end of this season.
man the fight in this episode was super cool!!! I was worried about Drop getting killed, but he certainly held up extremely well to the point where I was just like "Holy Shit my dude you're fairing extremely well" he just fucking wrecked jem's world
my favorite moment action-wise was when Jem dropped Drop out of the sky, the way that/the landing was described was super cool & added into my favorite part of the fight character-wise with Drop talking to Jem peacefully multiple times because wow look at this boy... look at him he's handling this situation in ways that wouldn't have been possible for him @ the beginning of the story (both physically & mentally) and I love him so much, Proud of this punch boy
still on that particular scene I'm also proud of Alias for making sure for certain that Drop wouldn't die from that fall at the expense of landing in the heart of an angry orc mosh pit, esp considering how nervous he was abt the entire orc situation even before the fight. the poor boy got fucked up real good (side note: the message-exchange between him and vinnie near the end was also sweet, team smol!)
i agree with seivardenakhrosimova's comments abt Jem surviving like I'm so relieved we'll get to see more of her, I was worried we wouldn't be able to after she'd flown away on the boat ride to the Cascades so many episodes ago. I love the way that Vinnie had a moment to shine and removed Jem's werewyvern curse, and I'm interested in what Jem's gonna have to say to Vinnie or just say in general whenever she comes to from unconsciousness in the next episode. It would be kinda nice if the two of them stayed a couple but I would also just honestly be happy with them surviving the campaign in general whether or not things worked out romantically (if they ever even could, they have rly different world views)
this isnt a pacifist run but it is like, a neutral run where everyone's been fucking up a lot but honestly trying to fix things and maybe, not kill ppl so much. like Violet even with her rampant bloodlust & murder happy everything is like, idk she seems at least like she tries to look for the guidance of her friends (esp Drop) when trying to make clear-headed not-rage-fueled decisions. since i feel like a part of her arc as a character is trying to deal w/the fact that the pmp doesnt work like the feywild in that shes not always the perfect pillar of goodness, she's in fact far from that, she's kind of like a spoiled teen in that regard. & with the weird time shifting stuff abt the feywild it might even feel like maybe this whole campaign is going way too fast for her to properly process considering how long unicorns are supposed to live (which adds to that spoiled teen idea cause shes an adult but Super Young by unicorn standards and i would love to see/know more of violet pre-campaign bc im like almost certain the stabbing shit happened as a result of feeling Super Threatened in the pmp and running w/that too far to the point where it like, is just her gut reaction to shit not being Right)
lastly, Sheithayne: shows the fuck up Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I really hope Sheithanye doesn't just fall into the pit and Die in the next episode... like I hope nobody dies in general but man Sheithayne is my fav npc she's so cool...
I notice that Austin didn't relent on having to kill Jem until Lauren had the idea of Vinnie curing her. I wonder if his main goal was just to make sure they didn't have some super powerful were-wyvern at their disposal for the Welch (or Zavala) fight.
oh, so...there is lots of Billys there!?!?! Well, that can't be good
Let's hope not! As far as the gang is aware there is only one being (or concept/idea, the term that Zavala refers itself to be). When Zavala creates a geas (first spelled that as 'geesh'...XD), it seems to create a portal to the plane/dimension/realm that the God the person was calling for help from resides in. Though I can't remember off the top of my head why Sheithanye was praying to Asmodeus other than being angry, gunna need to re-listen to that ep ^^ That does make me curious where the portal that Drop's dad's geas created went too as I can't remember which God he was praying to at the time and if Zavala originally came from that plane...
Also geesh (yes, can use that now) Gem was kinda annoying. Very much that angsty teen 'no one can understand my pain because no one has ever suffered like me' mentality, the assumption that everyone else has had it easy while they're the only one who's had it hard. I hope if the character sticks around for the last few episodes that her character can mature and grow past that I found it quite ironic that she kept going on about how no one could understand what it's like to be cursed to Drop and Lavinia, while trying to kill the Blackhearts etc. I did wonder if Vinnies 'remove curse' would work on her so that's answere. Byt given that the were-wyvern form seemed super useful and gave extra immunity then i'm wondering what the downside was and why it was it so terrible. And if she hated Isaac for treating her like a jock and for causing her to get cursed etc, why was she still hanging around and working for him? She didn't actually need to live in that specific mansion to kill nobles.
Okay, so, I haven't gotten past the fight with Jem yet, but so far it looks like this is Austins revenge for that episode with the golems last season, when Anne completely cheesed through his epic showdown and they found a moose.
I'm rarely funny, but I do have my moments. Hopefully you get to see more of them than not
I love how all the characters were true to their nature this episode: Drop was ready to die for his friends (but didn't want to kill), Alias creatively used his spells to aid in the fight (not sure it was actually necessary, but I'm sure Drop appreciated the effort), Vinnie rushed in to Heal her enemies... and Violet chose the path of violence only to be betrayed by the RollD20 app. It's like the dice recognised the roleplaying!
Dash Sean the Ragemonster: Just made it to Charlotte and our last leg has been delayed almost an hour so we should get into Portland by like 11:45, then to Kristin's place by like almost 1. Then we gotta be at the mechanic at 8AM to get her car and it's an hour drive.

Dash Sean the Ragemonster: johnpaul is a ninja now. He has completed his training. He still can't tell Jade and Kerstin's voices apart, but he can kill them from the shadows.

johnpaul: Hey, it's a fifty/fifty shot! I'm sure the guys hiring assassins are happy with those odds.

Dash Sean the Ragemonster: "Excessive Finery of the Butt" was outlawed in 1994 in reaction to the "Fine Butt Menace" which claimed the lives of 13 butt aficionados.
