Watched some episodes from Dragon Ball GT a few years ago with a friend. It's really slow and boring but the scene where Vegeta is introduced with his porn-stache killed us.

I actually have a random GT DVD from a box of various crap I bought for no reason. I haven't watched anything DB-related except DBZ Abridged in years. I should see how bad the DVD is.

You haven't seen the first Dragonball Anime, with little Goku? You should totally do that! Like I said, it's, more an adventure and the character and set design is great. It feels way more creative and playful, than DBZ.
Ok, I'm sorry, just have to vent a little. Saw the first episode of the new Berserk … why? Why would they do that? I can't understand … someone had to be sitting in a board-meeting and said: yeah that's a good idea! Lets make it C G I
So long I have waited for this anime; an adaptation that follows the events after the Golden Age Arc. The proper timeline, in which the manga actually takes place, some might say. Going in, I knew it was CGI. But given that this style had made some progress in the last years and that a lot of people praised the new adaptation, I had a glimmer of hope.
Of course it was all for naught. To be more precise, it is even worse! Because I like some things about it: the sound-design is good, I really like the voice acting, the music is very fitting and I like it, too, the rare still-shots are very good, and with this weird shadows, it kinda reflects the art style of the manga. So there are obviously people working on this project, who know what they are doing.
However …. the motherfucking CGI … it is not even a good example of its craft: its wonky as shit and almost every movement looks silly and unnatural, nothing moves according to actual anatomy or physic, and if it weren't for the shadow overlay texture it would violently contrast the tone of the show – not even speaking of the source material. It looks cheap, plain and simple. Some scenes look like cut scenes from 90s video games. And only said shadow effect saves the otherwise flat, lifeless and sometimes totally out of place textures.
I just can't find a good reason for this decision, CGI doesn't even lend itself very well, for the thing they trying to do. The only thing they used it for were completely unnecessary camera rotation shoots, that had no purpose (did Michael Bay direct this?). This sort of thing is admittedly cheaper and a lot easier to do with computer graphics, but I'm sure it would all go swimmingly without such shoots.
My heart is bleeding … I followed it for years. Was really looking forward to that. Really disappointed now. And with this atrocity, there will be no other adaptation for a long time.

I've seen Dragonball. I'm just saying that I haven't actively watched any Dragonball shows or movies in the past few years. Actually, I don't watch any long-running shows anymore.
Berserk is really bad. The animation is shit and they don't pick good points in the story to adapt. Also, they fucking depict Casca's rape in the OP. FUCKING WHY?

Yeah, after I posted I read your post again and got that. My bad. Most long running shows are shōnen cardboard copies of each other anyway, so I can understand you there. But I watch random Dragonball episodes from time to time, it's fun.

The OP is supposed to sum up the events prior, I guess. I mean it is an important plot point, because it breaks not only her, but also Guts and it is the catalyst of his whole motivation afterwards, to get revenge and all. One could also argue, that it is either the first act of cruelty Griffith commits after becoming Femto, or the last bit of humanity he lets go, by hurting his best/only friend on an emotional level. But they maybe should have taking the image of Femto looming over her (which appears so often in the manga), instead of full on tentacle monster rape … bit unnecessary there.
Locob0: its been almost a year since word funk went on a indefinate hiatus, i still miss it it was the highlight of my week and it kept me happy
