Howdy peoples. I'm Sean and I live on a hill somewhere near but not in Portland, Maine. I'm probably the oldest person here, as I'm less than a month away from 38. I work for a nonprofit charity which helps people with disabilities and at risk youth, though I don't directly do that stuff as I'm the head of safety for our second largest facility. Being vague is fun I'm also fully first responder first aid/CPR certified, so if anyone here chokes on something or stops breathing, I'm your man.
I honestly only got into the Funkiverse maybe last November. I just remember going to CA's website (which I used to do a lot but in the last couple years have only checked it out every few months) and I saw a title card for Dice Funk and I think the episode was titled "So Gay, So Good" and well, I was immediately interested. I went back and downloaded the entire first season to that point and created a new character in Neverwinter Online and listened to Dice Funk while I leveled my Oathbound Paladin. I was hooked by the end of episode one. In February I became a Patron of Austin's for two reasons. First, I wanted to support the show that was bringing me so much enjoyment, even if it was only a small amount. Secondly, I wanted to force Austin to have to say "Dash Sean the Ragemonster" at least once a month. Also, speaking as a bisexual man (or, as my shirt says, the "BEST BI") I REALLY loved how Leon played Rinaldo as being bi. Representation matters, and if it wasn't for Rinaldo there would literally now be more unicorns in Dice Funk than bisexuals. Seeing my orientation in one of the main characters made me love this crazy podcast even more.
I tried catching up with Word Funk by listening to old episodes but that got really hard with Leon leaving CA and them dropping his archive so quickly. About a month ago I decided to say "screw it" and just started listening to the current week's episode and checking out vintage funk whenever I stumbled across it instead of trying to listen to everything in order.
I've been listening to Game Crunk since day 1 and have happily never missed an episode.
The only games I'm playing a lot right now are Neverwinter and Pokemon Go. But, then again, everyone is playing Pokemon Go. My MOM is playing Pokemon Go, and she's in her 60's. I have a slightly daunting backlog of games I need to get around to playing (the Steam Summer Sale only added to the pile) though I think the one I want to get back to the most is Life is Strange. I played the first maybe 20 minutes of episode one (got it in a Humble Bundle) and immediately bought the rest of the game and then... never got around to playing the rest. At this rate, when I die my family will be able to pay for the funeral just by selling off my unplayed Steam games.
This year I wrote a really gimmicky and hacky one sentence horror story that got reblogged by Sixpenceee on Tumblr and currently has almost 17,000 notes and was screen captured and featured by the "Best of Tumblr" Facebook page. I'm way more proud of a still shot from the Deadpool movie that I captioned, but I'm not sure how within the rules for this place pegging jokes are.
I'm really long winded and full of myself, but you can probably tell that.
My favorite TV show is Doctor Who, and Tom Baker is *my* Doctor. My wonderful girlfriend bought me a terabyte external hard drive for my birthday two years ago and when she gave it to me she'd downloaded every extant episode from 1963 up through the last episode of Matt Smith's run to it. Something like 275 GB of Doctor Who. Yeah, I'm not letting this one get away. I'm currently working my way through every episode in order, and am in the middle of the 4th Doctor's run, or as I like to call it "the land of gumdrops where every sensation is an orgasm."
Wow, I've written a lot. Nobody is going to read this far. If anyone does read this far and actually replies, I'll give them a shoutout to the 3 or 4 of my Tumblr followers who might not be bots.
Oh year, my avatar is in fact a selfie. That's legit me and that hoodie is my Twilight Princess era Hylian Shield hoodie that I've worn so much over the years that it is seriously falling apart as I type this. It's my armor, though, so as long as I can drape it over my dumpster fire of a physique I will.
Anyway, time to go listen to Episode 4, season 2 of Dice Funk while grinding weekly quests in Neverwinter. Peace out, y'all!
