So I've revealed before that I don't really have the artistic chops to do fan art. I've literally never done it in my entire life.
But I had an idea. I thought that maybe I could just do stick figure fan art. At first I thought I'd make it xkcd style, but then I thought of Order of the Stick. (It helps that it was the first D&D related thing I ever saw, so it popped into my imagination a lot as they played.) I though it would be simple, due to the simple art style. Little did I know how much work it would be.
I've been working at least since Ziggy died. I'm still not as finished as I'd like to be, but I've finally hit a pretty hard stopping point: Season 3 has started. So I figured I should submit what I've got (even if I do eventually do more). Without further ado, here's Lorelai of the Stick:
(full size)
It started out simple with just Ziggy, but I noticed that I was basically depicting each character when they were happiest. Okay, so Vinnie is just dancing, but it works.
I used Spring Vinnie up there, as the purple leaves/flowers are what's unique about the tree she picked. But I also did colorations for all the seasons (and included an ear on Spring Vinnie):
(full size)
Brown hair just didn't work, so I went with white, as I saw on other winter dryads when I googled. Oh, and the shoes always match the hair, as I think it looks better. But I didn't repaint the lyre.

- Ziggy could be anywhere, but I assume is standing at home. I couldn't do a twisty stick, so that's the spiral I came up with. His was my first idea: giving him Kermit-style eyes.
- Hunter died a hero. There is a gray glow and poison bubbles on his tongue. I looked up kua-toa and they are very frog like. The fins are just what I thought of (besides color) to distinguish the two species. Oh, and he had to be smaller than Vinnie to be able to hold on to her leg as described.
- Lavinia is dancing and pointing at a birb. Dryads in OOTS have pointy ears. And half-xxx have only one ear. It was not easy finding a body that was fully figured, but it does come straight from the comic.
- Alias just used awesome magic. I gave him his scimitar (as it's the weapon he keeps), and cheated and gave him his focus. His hair is slightly blue as it looks better and matches his no pupil eyes. Finding a vest that fit him was nice. And I copied the cape from another fanart, which just seems more magicky to me. And wizards wear capes in OOTS.
- Drop is in the most martial art pose I could do in this format. He has the slight glow on his hands. His eyes are a bit sunken in. The blue color comes from other fan art, too.
- And Violet is in unicorn form (an earlier OOTS style horse with a horn) while is piloting the ship. She has barely violet-gray mane and tail, and a slightly violet coat, and pinkish violet ears. That way she could reasonably look like a horse with her horn covered.
