Hi.
So, it's been a while since I've been on any actual forums; Facebook seems to have taken over all my internetting. But when it turned out this place existed, I had to register, and given that this is a tiny, little forum with comparatively few people on it, I think a formal introduction is definitely in order. I like that this will be most likely be a more cozy, personal place.
So. Me.
I'm 30, a dude and I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my fiancee and our two pets: A floofy doggo and spiteful kitteh. I came to the Funkiverse through watching Renegade Cut on thatguywiththeglasses.com. Word/Dice Funk and Game Crunk are probably my favourite podcasts at the moment, along with TANIS and The Black Tapes.
I'm not actually that much of a gamer, but I enjoy hearing people talk about it and keeping up with news about the industry and the art form, which is why I also follow and greatly enjoy Jim Sterling's output. I suppose my reasoning for this is that I'm not actually very good at actually playing the games, so I contend myself with being a spectator. Case in point: I am fascinated by Outlast but I have only watched Let's Plays and read articles deconstructing the story; I'm very interested in games as a narrative art form but I simply can't be arsed to put in the practice hours that would enable me to beat games with relative ease. So, yeah.
My main areas of interest are still music, films and books, though. I've been playing guitar since I was a young teenager, and I'm still active in bands and such. I'm currently working on two "solo" projects as well: One Black Metal, one Synthwave. I build guitar and bass pedals for myself and others, and am going to start up a small business for this at some point. I am a lapsed academic: I have a BA in English, but I burned myself right the fuck on out during my Master's, so I've ditched that entirely and enrolled in a technical education, to become an electronics repairpersoin. Other than that, I just look forward to shooting the shit with you guys. Cheers.
PS:
Also, the username has meaning - I legitimately love eating and cooking with tofu. I'm serious.
PPS:
When you read my posts out loud in your head, doing so in an English accent (standard Received Pronunciation) will be closest to how I actually sound.
