There are numerous Trek episodes where the crew contemplate (or on occasion, actually do) remove the Captain (or possibly, Admiral) from command, though it usually turned out to be some sort of alien/robot/psychic double. It does, as Leon said, happen more often on Klingon ships where it is a requirement of the First Officer to challenge the Captain if he believes he is screwing up/acting cowardly (well Austin DID ask!).
The problem with The Radicalisation of Leon Thomas (and the One True Meme) is that it could easily end in the martyrdom of the title character. Maybe Leon's OK with that, but, he should consider where that film is going...
